Hotel:

The Century House Hotel exudes the refinement of a boutique hotel. An elegant, spacious lobby greets our guests, with undemanding old-world comfort at every turn, and fresh gourmet coffee and tea available throughout the day. All rooms are equipped with a comprehensive array of offerings, designed to make your stay comfortable, convenient, and worry free. In our 100% smoke free facility, all amenities can be easily accessed from the main lobby area, including: the hallways to overnight rooms, our long-term apartment wing, the breakfast room, business center, fitness room, outdoor pool area, tennis court, five meeting rooms, and stairs to the restaurant and banquet facility.

The hotel offers a complimentary full hot country buffet breakfast, from 6:30-10:30 every morning. We have a full-time breakfast chef, who takes special requests at no additional cost, and a dedicated breakfast attendant. Our business center has two computers loaded with the Microsoft Office Suite. The computers have unrestricted USB 2 ports, suitable for flash drives or other peripherals, as well as, free printing, copying, and faxing access. Behind the hotel, lie 10 acres of protected wetlands, with a ½ mile scenic nature trail, perfect for enjoying a stroll with your dog, as we have dedicated pet-friendly rooms. There are four entrances and exits, accessing our outdoor pool, tennis court, and courtyard. History:

It began in 1790, when the Stephen Van Rensselaer family paid a meager five schillings for several acres of Latham, NY property. The land extended to Cohoes Falls, and was soon rented to the Frederic Roff family at a rate of 25 ½ Skippels of saleable winter wheat, and four fat fowls to be delivered annually to Mr. Van Rensselaer. After changing hands a couple of times in the 19th Century and early 20th Century, it was in 1949 that James and Dorothy OHearn purchased the land. With a business dream and the familys efforts, the Century House Restaurant was born. Quickly, the OHearns gained a reputation for their hospitality, living upstairs in the farmhouse, and serving guests in their own living and dining rooms. Today these are the North and Federal Rooms. The business grew, and the East Dining Room was built in 1957, and the Main Dining Room in 1965. Our two large ballrooms, were added in 1972 and 1977, and in 1985, construction began on what became The Century House Inn, designed to offer luxurious accommodations, and reflect the traditional federal style that was our beginning. The nearly 220 year-old historic plot, is still family owned and operated, and dedicated to maintain the highest quality of products and services, set in classic, elegant surroundings, laden with sincere care for guests body, mind, and soul.
