The innkeepers are well-known for their gracious hospitality. We are located just off of The Loup Rivers Scenic By-Way, Highway 11.Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, you will experience a private quiet escape in the heart of the country. The early 1900's farmhouse is elegantly decorated in Victorian decor and furnished with antiques. The Shepherds' Inn is well known for their gracious hospitality. The parlor is furnished with a fireplace, TV, VCR, current magazines, games and working 1913 Edison Victrola. An 1880's pump organ stands nearby waiting to be played by those so talented. All guest rooms are air conditioned, have queen beds, private bathrooms, fluffy robes, hair dryers and many other amenities. Turn down service is available. A full candlelight breakfast is elegantly served on a lace covered table with heirloom table service, at the time of your preference prior to 10 a.m. Diet restrictions respected. A gift shop is on the premises and features skin care products made of goats milk, sheep milk and lanolin from New Zealand. These are wonderfully moisturing and healing for dry cracked skin, eczema, dermatitis and skin care for diabetics. Inquire for additional information. Mail orders welcome. The private living heart hiking trail is gaining in popularity. The bench that stands at the top of the hill was cut from the trunk of a 125+year old cottonwood tree that stood at the drive. Sit on that bench and enjoy the birds-eye view of the beautiful countryside or rekindle your spirit as you walk along quiet country roads.
